Larry Kahl

Larry Kahl is the Senior Mental Health Professional at Grand Journey LLC, bringing extensive experience across a wide range of clinical and leadership settings. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Education with an emphasis in guidance counseling and community counseling. Larry began his career as an addiction therapist and has since earned state, national, and international certifications in addiction counseling. In Wisconsin, he is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, and Certified Independent Clinical Supervisor. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and holds certifications in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing and Lean Six Sigma.

Larry has worked across the full continuum of care, including outpatient, residential, inpatient, and forensic psychiatric settings. His experience includes individual and group counseling, community education, and oversight of services for individuals with serious mental illness.

While he is able to provide counseling, Larry primarily focuses on clinical supervision and supporting teams delivering community-based, wraparound services. His approach integrates CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, and addiction expertise, grounded in cultural responsiveness and servant leadership. He has experience working with diverse populations, including Native American, Hmong, rural, and veteran communities.

Larry has over 15 years of teaching experience and is passionate about mentoring others. He values respect, collaboration, and providing care with unconditional positive regard.
